Rapper DMX has been released from hospital after he was found unconscious on Monday night (08Feb16).

Officers in Yonkers, New York found a 45-year-old man with no pulse collapsed at a hotel parking lot, but he resumed breathing after cops performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and gave him oxygen, according to Yonkers Police Detective Lt. Patrick McCormack.

McCormack, who tells the Associated Press privacy laws prevent him from identifying the man, reveals paramedics gave him an opioid reversal medication, which helps with slowed breathing or loss of consciousness.

DMX's attorney Murray Richman corroborated the police's report on Tuesday (09Feb16), adding that while he did not know the exact cause for his client's health scare, he does suffer from asthma.

Richman added that DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was released from a local hospital on Tuesday.

DMX's friend and producer Swizz Beatz also assured fans his pal is on the mend, by taking to Twitter.com and writing, "Just got off the phone with the DOG. He's good and in great spirits Thanks for all the blessings @Dmx the Great!"

DMX previously suffered an asthma attack during an arrest in South Carolina in 2013. Paramedics were called to the scene to check him over before he was taken into custody.

The rapper has experienced a host of headaches within the past year, as he was thrown in jail in June 2015 for failure to pay child support, with the arrest taking place just before he was due to perform at Radio City Music Hall. The star was allegedly sentenced to spend six months behind bars before being released.
