Pop star and actor Nick Jonas is not dating Kate Hudson, but he refuses to confirm or deny stories suggesting the couple had a fling.
The Jealous singer and the mum-of-two have done little to squash rumours of a romance in recent weeks, enjoying what appeared to be dates in Florida and New York last year (15) and recently vacationing together in Big Bear, California.
But, if there was love in the air, it has fizzled out, according to Nick, who, at 23, is 13 years younger than Almost Famous star Kate.
He told Complex magazine, "My current situation is that I'm very much single, but I'm trying to be as open to people who can inspire me in some way."
But he refused to be cornered about his alleged Hudson romance, adding, "Out of my best effort to respect her and her privacy, I'm not going to say if we had sex or not. But we did have a beautiful connection. Even now I have so much admiration and respect. She's amazing."
It sounds like the couple was close at some point.
Nick, who split from beauty queen Olivia Culpo in June (15), previously dismissed the romance rumours in October (15).
And talking of rumours, he's also keen to clear up reports suggesting the once pure Jonas Brothers teen idol is gay.
"There's always going to be negativity toward anything that is a positive effort toward change," Nick, who plays homosexual men in TV series Scream Queens and Kingdom told the magazine. "As a heterosexual male, (I am) open and comfortable about loving my fan base, gay or straight, because to me there is no difference, it is my fan base. Your sexual preference does not matter to me and it shouldn't matter to anybody.
"I thought it (the criticism about his gay TV roles) was kind of dumb, considering I play this gay character on a gritty show. There's a gay sex scene. I kissed a man!"
