David Bowie planned Blackstar follow-up days before death

David Bowie was planning on making another album after ‘Blackstar’, according to his producer Tony Visconti.

Visconti, who has worked with Bowie since ‘Space Oddity’, knew for a year that Bowie has terminal cancer but even last Friday he had no idea that David’s time would be so soon.

Speaking with Rolling Stone Visconti said that just one week before he died David FaceTimed him to talk about one more album. Tony told Rolling Stone that in the weeks before his death David had written and demoed five new songs. “And I was thrilled,” Visconti said for the edition of Rolling Stone, to be published next Wednesday, “and I thought, and he thought, that he’d have a few months, at least”.

Visconti also said stories that Bowie had suffered six heart attacks in recent years were false. He said that after the 2004 heart attack that brought the Reality tour to an end, and up to the previous album ‘The Next Day’, David appeared healthy and lived the normal life of a man in his 50s or 60s.

New reports says that Bowie was active just days before his death. On Sunday, he was feeling tired, took a nap, and never woke up.
