Former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt has warned young wannabes to stay away from reality TV, insisting the spotlight can be "soul destroying".
While the singer and dancer has found success as a judge on U.K. show Got to Dance, she insists reality TV is not for everyone and some wannabes should avoid talent programmes.
"I think a reality show is incredibly difficult, especially if you are there in search for fame (sic)...," she told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper. "I’m sure it can be soul destroying getting a backlash of offensive criticisms thrown at you.
"For those that have worked hard and are looking for a platform to be seen and an opportunity to continue their journey in becoming whatever it is they will be with their talent, it's a great springboard."
Kimberly rose to fame as a member of all-girl band The Pussycat Dolls and she has been focusing on her love of dance since the group split in 2010, and when giving any advice to up and coming stars, her top tip would be to focus on what makes them happy, not what will bring them the most fame.
"I think the limelight is great for those that want it and are prepared for any outcome, but the limelight isn't necessary to be successful at a passion," she said. "Basically, don't do things to be famous, do things to follow your talent and you'll be fine."
As well as her TV and dancing work, Kimberly is a mother to one-year-old daughter Willow with husband Max Rogers.
