Almost a year to the day since he was crowned The X Factor 2014 champion, Ben Haenow will return to the ITV show this Saturday to perform his new single ‘Slamming Doors’, as part of The X Factor’s highly anticipated final.

Ben says: “I'm so excited to be going back and performing on the X Factor final. I was in the same position as the contestants this time last year and it's crazy to be going back this time and doing an exclusive performance of my new single. Expect a little surprise too! :)"

Taken from his Top Ten debut album, piano-driven ballad ‘Slamming Doors’ (out now) was co-written with Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran) and Jim Duguid (Paolo Nutini) and is described by Ben as “a love song with a twist…about the arguments you have with someone in a relationship because you care about them, not because you want it to be over.”

This special performance culminates a year of hard work and commitment since winning the show - although won’t be Ben’s first time back on The X Factor stage. In October, Ben was invited onto the first live show of the series to perform a storming rendition of ‘Second Hand Heart’, the first single taken from the album. He will also be heading out on the road in 2016 on a nationwide UK tour in April, including one night at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

Described by Marie Claire magazine as ‘impressive stuff’, with Digital Spy praising its ‘tracklist of rousing pop-rock and soulful balladry’, the album sees 12 of 14 tracks co-written by Ben, alongside an A-List of writers and producers from London and LA to deliver a body of work that encompasses Ben’s musical influences and reflects his true and honest self.
