Multi-award-winning Drum and Bass act Rudimental have offered their support to a scholarship at the London campus of the Academy of Contemporary Music, housed in the world famous Metropolis Studios in Chiswick. One lucky musician will win a full scholarship on either of ACM@Metropolis’ 6-month intensive Industry Qualification (IQ) courses, in Songwriting & Artist Development or Music Production. The scholarship has a value of £5,995.
The IQ courses, which are fully validated by ACM in Guildford, the internationally acclaimed academy with a 20-year heritage of educating generations of music talent, will begin at the Metropolis campus in January 2016. Students will learn from Grammy-award winning engineers and a plethora of experienced music industry professionals in the studio where Adele recorded 25.

There is no minimum academic requirement for acceptance on the course, but Executive Chairman of both Metropolis and ACM, Kainne Clements, says, “We’re looking for students with potential, passion and commitment. They don’t need to be the finished product, but, embarking on an intensive 6-month course at one of the world’s most prestigious studios, they need to be prepared to focus and work hard. Our courses are based on a practical, learning by doing ethos, so they must be ready to learn from some of the industry’s leading professionals. They will leave equipped to embark on a sustainable career in music.”
ACM currently runs the two IQ options at Metropolis, but will be starting a range of degree level qualifications (subject to validation), which will be validated by Middlesex University, from September 2016.
Rudimental are looking forward to lending their support to the scholarship and to being involved practically with the courses by leading workshops for the students, “We think the ACM Scholarship is a great way to involve young people and give them a chance they might not have had before. Something that we feel is needed more in our society."
