Mumford & Sons are to headline the 2016 Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park in London on Friday 8th July 2016.
The Grammy and Brit Award winning Englishmen, who are one of the world’s most popular bands, and will follow their debut visits to South Africa and South America in early 2016 with a return to London at the iconic Hyde Park. They are named as the second headline act with Take That previously announced earlier in November.
Marcus Mumford and co will bring their neo-folk turned indie rock anthems to swathes of UK fans and will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Neil Young and the Rolling Stones who have previously played the Great Oak Stage.
“Mumford & Sons continue to go from strength to strength on the international stage. We are so pleased the guys will be returning home to London following their mammoth tour, to headline Barclaycard presents British Summer Time next summer” said Geraldine Wilson, Amazon Tickets General Manager.
Mumford & Sons said: “Hyde Park for us: sacrificing hopes and dreams at the altar of Neil Young; being transported to another dimension by The National; supporting Arcade Fire (the best band in the world); playing alongside our mates The Vaccines; accidentally seeing Black Eyed Peas; wishing we were at Kylie. What a place. And this time we get to headline and pick a bill of sick artists to play with us. Alabama Shakes! Wolf Alice! Gentlewomen of the Road! We’re travelling all over at the moment, so having this massive gig to look forward to next Summer, right in the heart of our home city, is just awesome.”
Further to Mumford & Sons, roots rock inspired American band Alabama Shakes and North London Mercury Prize nominees, Wolf Alice are also added to the ever growing lineup.
