Motorhead postponed their Sunday night show in Paris on the weekend after French police ordered the shut-down.
Initially the show scheduled for Paris venue The Zenith was planned to still go ahead after the terrorist attacks at the Eagles of Death Metal show on Friday night. Police strongly advised that going ahead with the performance was not a good idea.
In a statement Motorhead advised, “Due to the serious situation that our brothers and sisters are facing in Paris we have to postpone our gig until January. We are working on locking a date and will give details as soon as we can”.
A statement on Saturday read, “First of all, what can we say? Our hearts go out to all who have suffered in Paris tonight, we are so sorry, it is so utterly horrific. Thank you to everyone who has asked about us all, everyone in the Motorcamp is safe although as you have probably heard, Paris and, indeed, France, is understandably on lockdown until local authorities can gauge the full extent of what has occurred. When we have further news, we will let you know. We just hope everyone can heal”.
A return date in January is yet to be announced. Motorhead’s next show will now be in Dusseldorf, Germany on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
U2 cancelled their show in Paris on Saturday night. Foo Fighters have cancelled all remaining shows on their European tour.
