Gwyneth Paltrow is thrilled her daughter Apple admires Taylor Swift and not pop stars who get naked on the red carpet.
The Oscar winning actress has the 11-year-old along with son Moses, nine, from her marriage to Coldplay musician Chris Martin. Like any little girl Apple admires pop stars and Gwyneth is just relieved she looks up to someone like the Blank Space singer.
“She loves Taylor Swift, and for me, that’s such a great sign,” she told People magazine. “Taylor is a girl who’s incredibly talented. She writes her own music. She’s not naked on the red carpet. She’s an incredibly astute businesswoman, so with role models like that; (Apple) can’t go wrong.”
The 43-year-old opened up about her little girl while speaking at Variety’s Power of Women luncheon on Friday (09Oct15). Gwyneth believes Apple’s generation will produce even stronger women than hers and she can’t wait to see what they achieve.
“I really think that that generation is going to do something very special,” she smiled. “Those girls, they are so in their power. They are absolutely shameless in terms of their femininity, and I think we’re on the verge of something really exciting.”
Gwyneth has set the bar high for Apple in terms of what a woman can achieve. As well as starring in movies including the Iron Man trilogy and Shakespeare in Love, the actress is also a successful businesswoman thanks to her lifestyle website Goop. But Gwyneth has no doubt that Apple will continue her legacy with aplomb.
“It is possible to be a woman who is intelligent, thoughtful, articulate and vicious, while being a woman who is maternal, nurturing, sexual and for other women,” she continued. “I believe that we are those fully integrated women. I know my daughter will be that woman.”
