Stevie Wonder's divorce from fashion designer Kai Millard has reportedly been finalised after several years of processing in court.
The 65-year-old musician first married Kai in 2001, but the pair separated in 2009.
Stevie filed for divorce in 2012 and according to the Associated Press the matter is finally resolved, as Superior Court Judge Christine Byrd officially recognised the split on Monday 5 October (15).
Stevie has two sons with Kai, including a 14-year-old and a 10-year-old.
According to the terms of the divorce, Stevie will share joint custody of the boys with Kai and the You Are the Sunshine of My Life singer will also pay $25,000 per month in child support. But TMZ reports the agreement stipulates Stevie can only take the boys on tour with him “on a limited basis”. Stevie signed off on the papers with his thumbprint instead of a signature.
While the terms of his divorce with Kai were being fleshed out, Stevie was busy moving on romantically speaking with new girlfriend Tomeeka Robyn Bracy.
Stevie now shares two young children with Tomeeka and he is father to nine kids total.
The legendary musician revealed Tomeeka was expecting during an interview on US daytime talk show The View in November (14).
While speaking on the programme the star joked about the amount of offspring he has produced over the years.
"I got, how many, 22 kids? It's not true,” he laughed.
Stevie won a staggering 22 Grammys during his long career and he is known the world over thanks to his iconic songs, such as Happy Birthday and Isn't She Lovely.
He has spoken before about how being blind impacts his songwriting process.
"I am consumed by music... I can see music," he told the UK version of GQ magazine. "Each instrument has its own colour. It's like a puzzle and when I fit all the pieces together, that's my high.
"I'm not a normal man - never have been. The more I accept that, the better I feel. I'm a work in progress."
