Kanye West’s daughter North has completely changed his sound.

The 38-year-old rapper is father to two-year-old North and will soon be welcoming a baby boy with wife Kim Kardashian.

And in a new interview, Kanye has revealed how becoming a family has changed his perspective in life – and, in particular, the way he writes his music.

"Having a family, period, has made me completely rethink the way I rap," Kanye told SHOWStudio during a video chat at Paris Fashion Week. "You know, people extend their brand for a long time. There's true moments of genius, then there are moments of looking through the archives and putting s**t together. So many people rate Dark Fantasy as my best album, but Yeezus and 808 are so much stronger. Dark Fantasy to me is... almost like, an apology record. Power was the least progressive song that I've ever had as a first single.... least challenging.

"Three years ago, after this interview, I would've been on the train back to Paris to see the last of the shows to get that inspiration. Now, I'm on the first flight home to see my greatest inspiration, that's my daughter. I just love my family.”

Kanye and Kim’s son is reportedly due around Christmas time. Asked if he had chosen a name for the tot, Kanye said he hasn’t made any decisions as yet. But he does have one idea about his hopes and dreams for his unborn son.

“I don't have a name for him, but what I hope for him is that he can feel purpose,” Kanye said. “That he can learn that he has opportunities…”

Kanye has struggled with his reputation for many years, but has been working hard to change his image since becoming a father.

However, the singer admits his battles with the public perception of himself are meaningless compared to some of the other problems people in the world are facing.

"Do I worry about being in the public eye and raising kids? Yeah... but it's champagne problems," Kanye continued. "It's people who can't feed their kids. That's something to worry about more...

“These aren't real issues. There's people at war. There's people trying to make it to London right now.... That celeb s**t, it's not real s**t... You know what, I'm alive. I'm breathing... I have no problems."
