Straight Outta Compton has clenched the number one spot once again at the weekend box office.

The hip hop biopic earned over $26.7 million at its second week in theatres, according to Box Office Mojo. So far Straight Outta Compton has amassed $111 million worldwide in gross profits, an amazing margin considering the picture was made with a budget of just $29 million. The movie focuses on the groundbreaking group N.W.A which featured music heavyweights Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella. The picture, which was directed by F. Gary Gray, has helped its distributor Universal Pictures achieve amazing results in the financial realm this summer.

According to a summer report card issued by Variety, Universal Pictures and Disney earned the most money out of all the studios this season. Universal’s box office summer hits include Jurassic World, Minions, Pitch Perfect 2 and Trainwreck in addition to Straight Outta Compton. And Disney scored major wins with its releases Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Inside Out.

In second place at the box office this weekend is Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation with earnings of $11.7 million. The fifth installment of the action spy movie franchise sees Tom Cruise portraying butt-kicking character Ethan Hunt alongside his equally lethal espionage ally Ilsa Faust, who is played by Rebecca Ferguson. So far Paramount picture Rogue Nation has taken in $438 million internationally since its July 31 premier.

In third this week is debut horror follow-up Sinister 2, taking in $10.6 million.
