Jennifer Lopez is sick and tired of being called a cougar.

The nickname is used to describe women who date younger guys, which the 45-year-old did when she romanced backing dancer Casper Smart, 27.

In her new movie The Boy Next Door, the star has a night of passion with her neighbour Noah, played by 27-year-old Ryan Guzman. There is speculation that the couple are an item off screen and Jennifer is bored such things gain so much attention.

"I’m not after younger guys," she insisted to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "If younger guys like me, then that’s one thing."

It's not just the interest in her love life that Jennifer objects to; she is also bored of the double standard in society. She points out that many guys decide to go for younger ladies, but apparently that is of little interest to others.

"There’s like guys who just go after younger women. They have no name,” she explained. “No label. And you can date one person. Label."

Jennifer is currently single and has repeatedly said she is happy that way. She dated Casper following the breakdown of her marriage to Marc Anthony, who she has six-year-old twins Max and Emme with.

She spends as much time with the tots as possible, and they usually travel with her if she's working. If it's a very long trip, the children's grandparents step in to care of them. However, Jennifer believes being with her teaches them some great things about life.

"They understand that I work a lot and that the work pays the bills. It's a good message for kids. I grew up poor, so I knew I had to work hard," she told British magazine Hello!

"It's different with them, but I'm trying to make them aware of the world around them and what it is to be charitable and fortunate."
