Britney Spears is back in the recording studio.
The pop star released her eighth studio album, Britney Jean, just last year.
And it appears she’s already working on new material, teasing fans with an Instagram snap of herself standing at a microphone with a sheet of lyrics and a pack of cigarettes in front of her Thursday evening.
“Studio today! Yay!” Britney captioned the photo, which shows her flashing a peace sign.
The singer could have quite a bit of experience to draw from for some new tracks, having publicly blasted ex-boyfriend David Lucado for cheating during a recent Las Vegas show.
Taking the stage during her residency at Planet Hollywood in Sin City on Sunday she told the crowd: “Well, by now everyone knows my boyfriend cheated on me. But the best part of breaking up is going on first dates.”
“OMG, OMG, I need a hot guy. Where are the hot guys here tonight?” she demanded.
Britney’s comments followed on the heels of reports she had ended her romance with David after she saw footage of him kissing and dancing with another woman. She later confirmed the split on social media.
David has denied claims he cheated, according to TMZ, alleging the star pulled the plug on their romance on August 6 by texting him: "I'm done with you."
The footage of David was reportedly taken on August 7.
The outlet previously claimed David remains desperate to talk to his ex about what happened to explain he believed they weren’t together at the time.
