elbow have announced a run of theatre shows in London and Manchester for February of 2015. The shows will see the band return to a more intimate setting in both cities following multiple sold out arena shows over the past few years.

The run of dates, at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo and Manchester’s O2 Apollo, will also see the band revisit tracks from their extensive back catalogue comprising six studio albums and a B sides collection that began with the release of the ‘Noisebox’ Ep in 1998. Lead singer Guy Garvey explains what motivated the band to perform these very special shows:

“We enjoyed our theatre tour of the States and Canada this summer so much that we decided to do some at home. There is something magic about the history of old theatres and doing residencies in these lovely buildings means we can be playful with the staging. Also the band often discuss how great it would be to play older and rarer songs of ours alongside the ones we are best known for. We are also hoping for a range of excellent guests and are really excited about these shows”.
