Nick Jonas finds inspiration in his “deep and long” friendship with Demi Lovato.
The two singers were co-stars on the Disney Channel’s 2008 film Camp Rock and Nick took on the job of creative/music director for Demi’s Neon Lights tour.
The pair teamed up again for their new duet entitled Avalanche and Nick is delighted he was able to collaborate with his ex on his forthcoming solo album.
“Yes, Demi and I recorded a duet called Avalanche. It’s a beautiful song about a relationship that’s breaking down,” he explained to America’s OK! magazine. “It’s not necessarily romantic or a love song, but there is a deep and long relationship between Demi and me that we touch on in the song. After singing with each other for almost eight years, it [came together] really quickly.”
Nick shot to fame alongside his siblings Joe and Kevin in their band, The Jonas Brothers.
He has been active in the entertainment industry since 2005 and received powerful guidance from boy band legend Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys near the beginning of his career that remains relevant to this day.
“Early in the Jonas Brothers’ career, Nick Carter, of all people, said to us, ‘Watch the people you admire most—and learn from their mistakes.’ That’s actually really solid advice,” Nick shared.
The Jonas Brothers announced at the end of last year they were going their separate ways.
Nick’s self-titled solo effort is due for release two months from now.
