Justin Bieber was arrested in Canada on Friday after crashing into a van driven by paparazzi.

The singer is now facing charges of assault and dangerous driving, according to Canadian police.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon near Justin’s hometown of Stratford in Ontario.

According to reports, Justin was driving an ATV (all terrain vehicle) when he crashed into the van.

The assault charge stems from an physical altercation between Justin and the photographer which occurred after the fender bender, TMZ report.

"Investigation revealed that after colliding, the driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation," Ontario Provincial Police spokesman Kees Wijnands stated.

Following the arrest, Justin was released on a “promise to appear” and will have to appear in court on the charges on September 29.

Justin is already on probation from charges of vandalism after he admitted throwing eggs at a neighbour’s house last January.
He also has a history of vehicular incidents, after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of careless driving and resisting arrest after a drag race in Miami earlier this year.

Justin later made a donation of $50,000 to a youth charity as part of a plea deal he accepted for the case.

Earlier on Friday, Justin was pictured driving what is thought to be the same ATV with on-off girlfriend Selena Gomez on the back.

The images are the latest indication that the couple are giving their relationship another go.

According to reports, Justin and Selena decided to spend the weekend together at his father Jeremy’s house.
