Chance The Rapper has met his hero.
The hip hop artist, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, performed at Made in America in Los Angeles, California, over the weekend. During the event, the Chicago rapper met Kanye West, and he took to Instagram to share his excitement.
“Anyone who knows me knows how big of a moment this was for me,” he captioned a photo of himself with the Yeezus performer. “I've been his biggest fan since 04 and I'm pretty sure I'm still his #1 fan. Thanks to J for hookin it up. Thanks to Gizmo for all the good luck yesterday. #IMetKanye”
Chance The Rapper added on Twitter, “We talked about Chicago and what we could do for it.”
Kanye was born in Atlanta but moved to Chicago with his mother when he was only three years old. He now resides in California with wife Kim Kardashian.
Kanye frequently mentions the city where he grew up. Earlier this year, he told fans that inside he is “the same kid from Chicago”.
"I am honoured and humbled by my fans, for the unwavering support and love over the past ten years," Kanye said in a statement on the 10th anniversary of his debut album The College Dropout, according to E! News.
"I wake up every day trying to give something back to you that you can rock to and be proud of. Ten years later I am still the same kid from Chicago, still dreaming out loud, still banging on the door. The doors may be heavier, but I promise you WE WILL BREAK THEM."
