Carrie Underwood is expecting her first child with husband Mike Fisher.

The country music star announced the news on Instagram with a photo of herself holding her two dogs wearing “big sister” and “big brother” outfits.

“In honor of ‘Labor’ Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier…” she captioned the image on the American holiday.

The 31-year-old star’s hockey player husband, 34, also announced the news on his Twitter account.

“We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher,” he wrote.

Carrie and Mike married in 2010, two years after they met.

The Blown Away hitmaker recently opened up about her desire to become a mother, sharing that she would love to have at least “two” kids.

“Three is fine. Four? Somebody’s getting something done, because we ain’t having five!” she laughed to America's Self magazine.

Shortly after her wedding, the star admitted as the youngest of three girls she never much experience being around youngsters, although she was optimistic her maternal instincts would one day kick in.

“I didn't grow up around kids, and I hope those motherly instincts are in me," she mused to InStyle. "I'm sure they are, but I don't know what to talk about with a four-year-old!"
