Sam Smith joined radio show In:Demand backstage at the V Festival and said he’d love to work with Chris Brown ,who, this week took to Instagram to perform a parody of Sam’s single ‘Stay With Me’.

Sam commented on the Instagram post and spoke of his admiration for Brown’s music “It was amazing I love it. It’s really weird because I’m a massive fan of his music. I love Chris Brown’s music so much yeah. I’d love to meet him so possibly who knows it would be cool to collaborate.”

Sam had a strong reaction to online dating apps Tinder and Grinder and said the apps were running romance. Sam spoke openly about his string of dates recently and how he’s getting more confident.

“No offence to people who go on Tinder but I just feel like it’s ruining romance I really do. We’re losing the art of conversation and being able to go and speak to people and you’re swiping people. From my experience the most beautiful people in my life that I’ve been on dates with are the dumbest so why would I swipe people who are unattractive when I could fall in love with. Stop Tinder and Grinder”

Sam continued and hinted that he might very well be off the market “I’ve been on a couple of dates. I’m not in the same country for long enough to go on dates but the one’s I have had have been good. I’m good at dates. I used to get really nervous but now I’m better. There is one particular guy that I’ve been on a few dates with. I like him but who knows!”

When asked if he’d rather sit on Justin Timberlake or Justin Bieber’s lap in a radio question challenge Sam joked “I’d rather sit on Justin Timberlake’s lap than Justin Bieber’s. I’d say Justin Timberlake because I’m a big guy I think he could take me. I’d crush Justin Bieber”

He concluded by talking about how overwhelmed he’s been by the success of his first record, especially in America “I can’t put America into words. It’s something that I thought would come later on. Even when I talk about it now I just can’t quite believe what’s going on. I’m overwhelmed for my first record to do that.”
