Kylie album sales soar after Commonwealth Games

Sales of Kylie Minogue’s albums on Amazon.co.uk have spiked since the Australian-singer dazzled the 40,000-strong crowd at the 2014 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony.

In the 24 hours since the show, albums The Best of Kylie Minogue, Fever, and Kiss Me Once were the biggest sellers, increasing by 1140%, 800%, and 669% respectively.

It was also good news for other acts on the night with sales of Scottish pop band Deacon Blue’s Our Town rising by 753% following their performance and Australian pop newcomer Jessica Mauboy’s Beautiful increasing sales by a massive 2800%.

Kylie kept the crowd entertained with seven tracks, including Love at First Sight, All The Lovers and The Locomotion, before closing her set with a thumping rendition of Can’t Get You Out of My Head.

Other Kylie albums which have seen a huge sales jump on Amazon Music include The Abbey Road Sessions, which saw an uplift of 667%, while Body Language spiked by over 500%.
