Lindsay Lohan called the police on a fan, it is claimed.

The 28-year-old relocated to London where she is set to appear in the West End production of Speed-The-Plow in September. Since arriving, the Mean Girls actress has chosen the Chiltern Firehouse as her regular hotspot, even staying in one of the hotel rooms attached for a short time.

Apparently, one of Lindsay’s admirers took things too far by hanging around outside the celebrity-frequented establishment in an attempt to meet the actress, the British newspaper The Mirror reports. The fan also repeatedly sent marriage license applications to the restaurant for the star to sign.

“Lindsay’s really shook up about it all,” a source told The Mirror. “This man just wouldn’t leave her alone. He knew where she was staying and was always there, waiting. She’s been really scared.”

Lindsay reportedly contacted the authorities, who “are still looking into the incident”, according to The Mirror.

The Parent Trap star is rumoured to have moved into an apartment in Mayfair and is focused on work, hoping that her ten-week stint in Speed-the-Plough will alter the perception that she is unreliable.

“I want to be known for my talents and my work that I create, rather than a tabloid sensation," she previously told the BBC. “However long it does take, I'm willing to do it. I'm willing to work for it."

The Freaky Friday actress has been involved in traffic violations, shoplifting incidents and alleged assaults. She has also been accused of being late for jobs. Last year, Lindsay had a court-ordered stay in rehab.
