Niall Horan thinks Germany “deserved” to win the World Cup.

The One Direction singer is a big soccer fan and last night marked the final game of the tournament, which saw Germany win 1-0 against Argentina.

Niall, 20, took to Twitter to congratulate the team, who beat Brazil 7-1 in the semi-finals, on their victory.

“Congratulations to Germany! Totally deserved to win it! The most exciting team to watch! (sic)” he posted.

Niall and his bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne finished the European leg of their Where We Are Tour in Portugal yesterday. The boys thanked their fans for making the shows so special.

“Porto thank you so much ! What an incredible night! One of my favourite shows on the European leg! Thank you Again,” Niall posted.

“Europe you have been absolutely amazing to us! I'm sure we will see u all very soon! Thank you for making my dreams come through ! (sic)”

Harry, 20, also took to the social networking site to show his gratitude.

“Tonight is the last show of our European tour.. Thank you to all the crew who make the shows possible. You've been incredible,” he posted.

“And to everyone who has come to the shows, you've made it so amazing so thank you for spending some time with us. You're incredible .xx (sic)”

The North America leg kicks off in Toronto, Canada, on August 1.
