Demi Lovato wants fans to put down their devices for a moment.

The 21-year-old pop star was compelled to comment on the epidemic of social media users so busy snapping photos they forget to enjoy experiences in the flesh.

Ironically, she logged onto Twitter to share her feelings.

“Life is so much more than cool pictures for Instagram,” she wrote her 23 million followers.

“Enjoy your [world],” she continued, including an emoticon of planet Earth.

Demi is known to update her own social networks quite frequently, keeping fans informed about her upcoming world tour, as well as including micro-blogs about how she’s feeling.

Her note Sunday night came just days after the star was tangled in an online scandal after her naked image was reportedly leaked.

The 21-year-old star, who is rumoured to be dating former That ‘70s Show actor Wilmer Valderrama, received unwanted attention after his Twiitter account was apparently hacked July 3.

Radar Online reported at the time numerous intimate photos of Demi had been released to the world.

Apparently pictures of Wilmer and Demi making out were also leaked during the alleged cyberattack.

Wilmer then swiftly logged onto his account, tweeting: “ATTENTION EVERYONE! Someone just hacked my twitter account!!!!!!”

Shortly after the actor made the announcement, his Twitter handle was taken offline.

It has since been reinstated.
