Solange Knowles is "at peace" with her famed elevator attack.

In May footage of Solange violently assaulting her brother-in-law Jay Z following a Met Gala after-party was leaked. She was seen lashing out at the rapper while her sister, and his wife, Beyoncé Knowles looked on.

She has now referred to the incident in a new interview, although she hasn't elaborated on what caused it.

"What’s important is that my family and I are all good," she told Lucky Magazine. "What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that."

Although the group didn't initially comment on the footage, they did release a joint statement several days later.

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” it read.

"At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

The announcement also dismissed speculation that Solange had been drunk at the time, or had been behaving erratically in the run-up to it.

According to New York Post, Solange also refers to the incident as "that thing" during the interview with Lucky Magazine.

Beyoncé and Jay are also working hard to move on, with their joint On The Run Tour kicking off in Miami last month. They put on a show of unity by playing never-before-seen footage from their 2008 wedding to the crowd on the first night and on Saturday night Jay pulled Beyoncé in for a cuddle and kiss while performing in Philadelphia.

The pair have been battling allegations that Jay has been unfaithful, which were fuelled when Beyoncé changed the lyrics to her song Resentment during one performance.

"Been ridin' with you for 12 years. Why did I deserve to be treated this way by you?" she sang, with the original line saying six years. Her and Jay's relationship has spanned 12 years.
