Pink Floyd will have a brand new album in October if David Gilmour’s wife Polly Samson is correct.

Polly may have let the cat out of the bag when she tweeted “Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called ‘The Endless River’. Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright’s swan song and very beautiful”.

The album will feature all unreleased material. Backing singer Durga McBroom-Hudson has confirmed the release on her Facebook page adding a photo from the 1994 session and stating stating Remember this photo? It wasn’t what you THOUGHT it was. YES. THERE IS A NEW PINK FLOYD ALBUM COMING OUT. AND I’M ON IT. And there was much rejoicing”.

Putting the pieces together, ‘The Endless River’ appears to have been recorded either during or around the time of Pink Floyd’s last album ‘The Division Bell’, so Roger Waters is not involved with the record.

‘The Division Bell’ featured David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason. Guy Pratt played bass guitar instead of Waters on the record. Durga McBroom was a backing singer on that album was well.

Roger Waters left Pink Floyd after the 1983 album ‘The Final Cut’. Rick Wright did not appear on that album after clashes with Waters. He returned to Pink Floyd as a session for ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’ in 1987 after Waters departure and was fully credited as a member of Pink Floyd for the final album ‘The Division Bell’ in 1994.

An official announcement about the release of ‘The Endless River’ is expected to be made tomorrow Monday July 7.
