Miley Cyrus promises her upcoming TV special is going to be “fire”.

Executives at US network NBC announced last week the pop star’s ongoing Bangerz Tour would be featured in a two-hour special next month.

And the 21-year-old singer has wasted no time getting to work, telling her social media followers they can expect plenty of sparks, despite controversy over her concert’s raunchy content.

“my editing nbc special liewkkkkk… this [s**t] is lookin [fire]! Can't wait for yallz to c it July 6th,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself sticking her tongue out, using emoticons to express her excitement (sic).

Miley was multi-tasking in the edit bay, also sharing snaps of her kits of arts and crafts, including a colorful array of fuzzy flowers, furry balls and glitter.

“I do crafts and edit specials at the same damn time,” she boasted.

Within minutes, hundreds of thousands of fans had liked the images, a promising outcome for NBC despite parents’ fears over the programming.

The star’s Bangerz Tour, which launched in February, has been fraught by criticism about its graphic content.

HitFix previously reported Miley defended herself after “outraged” parents petitioned to shut the tour down, concerned the former Disney star was sending the wrong message to her young fans.

“You can't say I didn't warn you. Now sit back relax & enjoy the show. #bangerztour,” the former Hannah Montana star tweeted earlier this year.

Still, she admitted it’s tough to hear people talking so negatively about her work.

“I don't think people realize how much energy I put into my shows & how much their bad energy brings me down,” she added.

Miley, who’s currently on break from the shows, is scheduled to resume performing in Uniondale, New York next month. The tour is scheduled to continue with shows throughout North America, Latin America and Australia, wrapping up in Perth on October 23.
