Jennifer Lopez’s recent divorce was the “hardest thing” she ever had to go through, but she still believes in love.
The songstress has spoken exclusively to the American edition of OK! Magazine about her latest record, A.K.A and her romantic failings. She split from Marc Anthony in 2011 and their divorce was finalised last week.
“My divorce was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through. But you come out of it a lot stronger. I still believe in love as deeply as I ever have,” said the Latino artist when the conversation turned to her past.
Jennifer and Marc’s breakup came after a seven-year marriage and they are also parents to six-year-old twins Max and Emme. She has been married twice before.
The 44-year-old pop star’s new album A.K.A deals with many of the issues Jennifer has had within her own love life.
“My message has always been about love. In my first few albums, I talked about it in more of a fairy-tale way, wishing and hoping for it, when it went wrong and when it went right. This album is still about love, but it’s about exploring its complexities,” the American Idol judge explained about her latest LP.
Jennifer has dated a number of celebrities in the past including Puff Daddy.
Her latest romance has been anything but a fairy-tale as she recently split from dancer Casper Smart after two-and-a-half years together. The news came following claims he had been sending explicit messages to a transsexual model.
“The relationship has been over for nearly two months. They were trying to handle privately. Any of Casper‘s recent online activity was done as a single guy. They are friendly,” a source told Just Jared at the time.
