Passenger joined Absolute Radio backstage at The Isle of Wight Festival and revealed that after meeting Emeli Sande a few weeks ago, a collaboration could very well be on the cards. He said “I think Emeli Sande is an amazing artist. Her voice is beautiful and I’d love to write with her. We’ve spoken about it so who knows. Would be so cool”
Passenger also explained his new found love for Elton John, “I know it sounds ridiculous but I’ve only recently really started to discover Elton John. I mean he’s just incredible. Hit after hit. I’ve been googleing his lyrics and l’ve been wanting to do a cover”.
New single ‘Scare Away The Dark’ has a rather raunchy music video to accompany it with naked actors running around towards the end of the shoot. He said. “Well yeah, a video full of naked people, sex sells right? Like Robin Thicke. I wasn’t involved in the nakedness. The actors were brilliant and did an amazing job, thankfully, it was an injury free shoot”.
Passenger hopes to play with friend Ed Sheeran again soon. “We’ve obviously been on tour together in the past and because we’re so busy it’s harder to co-ordinate. It will happen again for sure and I’d really like to play alongside Ed again”.
Passenger said that his mum accepts his beard “My beard hides as much of my face as possible and my mum is ok with it”. He joked. “I’ve had a beard since I was about four so she’s used to it by now”.
And here’s a few things you might not know about Passenger “I’m not as depressing as my music might suggest. I’m a lot happier. I’m a massive Arsenal fan, I love my football, I love David Attenborough, Japanese food and drink a lot of whiskey - Not too much though”.
