Calvin Harris reportedly ditched Rita Ora after discovering she was still in touch with Rob Kardashian.
Rita and Rob dated in 2012, with the relationship ending after Rob publicly accused her of cheating on him with "20 dudes" on Twitter. While he insisted they have been in a secret romance for months, Rita later insisted things were never serious.
Since they split Rob has gone through a tough time, piling on weight and battling rumours about his mental state. On the family's TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians he has hinted the relationship took a drastic toll on him and it's now been claimed that Rita recently reached out to him. This is said to have been the catalyst for DJ Calvin calling time of their long-distance romance.
"About a month ago, Rita was in touch with Rob because she was worried about him - he's put on so much weight and she'd heard rumours about him heading to rehab," an insider claimed to British magazine Heat. "She knows he blames their break-up for his weight gain, so she just wanted to check in on him. But Calvin found out that they were back in contact and they had this massive row, where he accused her of cheating. She tried to explain, but it seems he has serious issues with trust."
Calvin confirmed the breakup on Twitter, calling her "beautiful and talented" and wishing her the best. He said the relationship had ended some time ago, although in the weeks before Rita had spoken about him in glowing terms while promoting the song they worked on together called I Will Never Let You Down.
Rita is said to have felt embarrassed by Calvin addressing things so publicly as she didn't know that was the plan. However, things were apparently not great for some time.
"Calvin wanted to have kids and get married, but he was always reluctant, because he seemed to find it difficult to trust her," the source said. "Rita denied that she was doing anything wrong and told Calvin he was being unfair. That was the beginning of the end. Rita was devastated and pleaded with Calvin to take her back, but he was done."
Previously it was suggested that Calvin was unhappy after hearing claims that Rita and Justin Bieber had got flirty while working on new music together.
