Kelly Clarkson’s newborn daughter is “absolutely precious”.
The American singer gave birth to her daughter on June 12. She is her first child with husband Brandon Blackstock, who’s the son of Kelly’s manager Narvel Blackstock. Brandon has two children, Seth, seven, and Savannah, 11, from his previous marriage with Melissa Ashworth White.
Melissa went to visit Kelly and Brandon’s daughter River Rose on Saturday. “She’s just absolutely precious. And Kelly is doing great,” Melissa told Radar Online.
Melissa claims there are no hard feelings between her and the new parents.
“We have a wonderful relationship,” Melissa said. “I love Kelly and we get along great, and my husband and I hang out with them all the time.”
Kelly has openly admitted that it’s her role as stepmom to Seth and Savannah that convinced her she too wanted a family.
Melissa took to Facebook to share her excitement over the newest addition to the family over the weekend. “Earlier today, I got to see the 3rd most precious baby in my life… River Rose Blackstock! It’s a love I can’t explain, she is a part of my kids,” she wrote.
Kelly, 32, announced she’d given birth on Twitter and also revealed her bundle of joy’s name on the social networking site.
"Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :) (sic),” Kelly posted.
The couple, who were married last year, also announced the pregnancy in November via Twitter.
“I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever (sic),” Kelly wrote.
