Paris Jackson apparently wants a "fresh start".

The 16-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson star reportedly attempted to take her own life last year, swallowing 20 Motrin PM pills and cutting her wrists with a meat cleaver. She has been attending a boarding school in Utah, which uses horse therapy to help young people affected by trauma.

Paris has been spotted out and about looking healthy and is apparently ready to turn over a new leaf.

"Paris wants a fresh start in California and feels ready," a source explained to British magazine Star. "She's had a new haircut, she's back on social media - albeit on a very private account - and wants to join her family again."

The teenager has been spending some time in California with her co-guardian cousin T.J. Jackson, grandmother Katherine Jackson and mother Debbie Rowe. However, they are said to be keen for her to stay at the school for a little while longer.

"The family want her to remain away from the glare of the cameras," the source continued. "She's made massive progress. The school's expertise is with equine therapy - something which is especially close to horse-lover Debbie's heart."

The magazine adds that her family are hoping she will stay at the school for another year and then move to Debbie's horse ranch.

Paris and her estranged birth mother Debbie reunited last year, but while their bond is strong, it's been more difficult with her siblings Prince and Blanket. However, this could be different in a year's time.

"The family think that, in 12 months' time, the relationship between Prince, Blanket and Debbie will also have thawed and the two brothers will give their blessing to the move," the source said.
