Justin Bieber will reportedly take anger management classes as part of a plea bargain.
The 20-year-old singer is facing charges of DUI, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license after he was arrested in Miami earlier this year. Initially it was claimed he had been drag racing down a main street after drinking, but according to TMZ neither of those allegations were true - although Justin was found to have smoked marijuana.
According to the website, Justin has now reached an agreement with authorities which will likely be put into action before the end of the month.
It's alleged he will plead guilty to reckless driving, but the other charges will be dropped. He is likely to receive a fine and will have to go to anger management classes, although he won't be put on probation.
There have been rumblings that Justin's legal team were trying to agree a plea deal, with TMZ claiming negotiations took so long because a public service announcement was a sticking point. The judge reportedly wanted Justin to appear in an anti-drugs promo, but his people were unhappy about it. Eventually the legal professional backed out.
It's claimed that drug and alcohol education provided another area of disagreement, with prosecutors claiming the singer needed to attend classes. His team insisted that as Justin has no addiction issues they would be pointless, especially as some would claim going to the lessons was an admission of a problem. A compromise was reached in the form of anger management.
The star's friend Khalil was with him at the time and will get the same terms, although he will skip the classes. Once both have met their side of the deal, the reckless driving conviction will be expunged.
It's not the first time Justin has been linked to incidents of reckless driving. In May last year he was accused of driving his Ferrari at incredibly high speeds around his gated community in Calabasas, California, with residents claiming he was endangering others. He was eventually cleared, although is behaviour was deemed "immature" by the district attorney.
Justin has been beset by legal problems of late, with reports earlier this week stating he has apparently dodged a felony attempted robbery charge. A woman claimed he had grabbed her phone after she tried to take his picture, but apparently no evidence could be found.
