Taylor Momsen thinks the fans at British festivals are "crazier".

The former Gossip Girl star is the frontwoman of rock band The Pretty Reckless and they've been busy playing at big music events such as Germany's Rock am Ring.

Taylor and her bandmates Ben Phillips, Mark Damon and Jamie Perkins are now gearing up to play the UK's Isle of Wight Festival in Newport and Download Festival in Donington on June 14 and 15 respectively.

"[Download] is one of our favourite gigs that we've played. They're crazier here, the fans are music lovers. It's much bigger," the 20-year-old admitted to BBC Radio 1.

Guitarist Ben added: "They're trying to imitate it stateside; it hasn't gotten there yet."

The blonde singer added that festivals are normally "all work and no play" for the band and that they rarely get to watch other artists perform.

Radio host Fearne Cotton also gave fans the opportunity to ask Taylor some questions. One was keen to know what her favourite kind of food is.

"I like snack food: pretzels and string cheese, rice cakes, bananas... I'm that snack-all-day person," she divulged.

Another fan wanted to find out what the best thing in Taylor's life right now is.

"Playing right now," she quickly answered. "Any time you get to play is the greatest time."

The Pretty Reckless are travelling to Poland for the Orange Festival tomorrow, before heading back to the UK for Download and the Isle of Wight.

The band also hinted that they have some more tour date announcements coming up and that fans should keep an eye on their official website.
