Rita Ora and Calvin Harris split up “some time ago”.
There has been speculation for some time about the status of their relationship, and now Calvin has confirmed it.
Posting a statement via Twitter on Friday, the DJ admitted he and Rita were no longer together.
“To address speculation - myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best,” he said.
While Rita has yet to say anything about the split, she has previously made comments about how hard the relationship is to maintain.
According to the British star, keeping their romance alive was a lot of hard work.
“You have to fly each other out, you just have to,” she told British newspaper The Mirror. “Sometimes you fly for 20 hours, sometimes you only fly for five hours. It’s an effort, but you make it work. If you had a choice, you want that person with you. It makes me pretty sad. But you work with what you’ve got.”
The couple started dating in May 2013, and Rita spoke about how the relationship had transformed her life.
It’s clear they both thought the world of each other and did their best to make it work.
“Someone came into my life that really helped me for the better, made me see things differently,” she explained during an appearance at the Radio 1 Academy in Glasgow, Scotland. “Y’know I opened my eyes to reality almost. It changed everything, from how I would wake up in the morning and brush my teeth before that person wakes up, I would do girly things I never did before. I am normally the manly-ish girl on the planet.”
