With their debut album New Eyes currently riding high in the midweeks following its release on Monday, Clean Bandit have just unveiled ‘Clean Bandit: The Game’.
The app, available to download for free on iPhone, iPad and Android via iTunes and Google Play Stores, is an addictive sliding puzzle game based around the band’s logo; four shapes which represent each of the four members of the band. The game is also available to play on desktop.
Songs from the band’s new album soundtrack each level of the game, with users challenged to make as many matching patterns as possible within the time limit of each track. As the game goes on, shapes in the grid become locked making the levels increasingly harder. At the end of each of level, the user is presented different options to engage with that track; buy the track on iTunes, watch the video on YouTube or listen to it via Spotify. There is also the function to share their achievements via Facebook and Twitter.
The band had to say about the game: "We have only had the final version for a couple of days and we are all playing it constantly on the tour bus. The other day we were in the waiting lounge at the US Embassy for our visas just playing the game. We got so engrossed we nearly missed them call our number!"
