Chart-topping electronic collective Clean Bandit visit hmv to perform a short set and sign copies of their debut album ‘New Eyes’.
Attendance to the event is strictly limited to 200 people due to live event restrictions with fans gaining access by obtaining a free wristband with purchase of the album.
Influenced in part by the East European house music of Moscow, where Grace (Cello) and Jack (Bass & Keys) stayed for their studies, Clean Bandit play an eclectic mix of electronic, deep house and classical music. The group are involved in every element of their musical output, writing, performing and producing all their own tracks, creating promotional videos for themselves and other artists and even sourcing guest vocalists from their North London music production trainee scheme. Clean Bandit met as students in Cambridge beginning as Grace’s string quartet before Jack added samples and beats to the mix. Their first video ‘Mozart’s House’ became a viral hit in 2010, beginning a string of inventively creative and at times dangerous self-produced videos, which have seen the near electrocution of model Lily Cole and the sinking of £8000 worth of camera kit.
Following a string of UK headlining Spring tour dates, Clean Bandit release their eagerly anticipated debut album ‘New Eyes’. The album includes their number one hit single ‘Rather Be’, which retained its top spot for an incredible four weeks. They draw inspiration from a variety of genres including the UK Garage influenced ‘Heart on Fire’, the UK Funky sound of ‘A+E’ and Dancehall infused track ‘Come Over’. Clash call the album’s richly woven tapestry of sounds a ‘leftfield electronic matrimony’.
