Kristen Bell is slated to host the 2014 CMT Music Awards.

The Veronica Mars star will emcee the show for the third time next month, UsWeekly reports.

But it will be her first time taking the reins solo, after Toby Keith joined her in 2012 and Jason Aldean co-hosted in 2013.

Kristen spoke to the outlet about returning to the prize-giving, insisting she’s “not really” feeling nervous despite taking on the gig alone.

"CMT proposed I host on my own this year, so I said, sure I'd give it a try," she explained, adding that she enjoys hosting because "it's such a fun show that never takes itself too seriously”.

Kristen also loves the perks that come with the job. She’s a big country music fan and has already seen many of her favourite artists perform at the CMTs.

"The musical performances are like seeing the best country concert lineup all in one venue,” she gushed.

This year, the star and her fellow country music fans can expect performances from Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood, according to Us.

And Kristen also promised plenty of surprises.

"We have a ton of surprise guests and artists this year that I’m really excited to see perform," she said.

The CMT Music Awards will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on June 4.
