Courtney Love thinks that all rock stars are "in this together".
The former pin-up girl for grunge music has been reflecting on her past and the fact musicians often go through the same experiences.
On the subject of the late Layne Staley, the former frontman of Alice in Chains who died of a heroin overdose in 2002, Courtney confesses that many of the world's greatest rock singers could have gone the same way.
"Everyone from Billy Idol to Ozzy Osbourne - there's no difference," she told British magazine NME. "I'm not as much of a snob as I used to be. We're all in this together and there's not a lot of us. A rock star's a rock star's a rock star."
Courtney is back to her musical best and has been enjoying playing a string of comeback gigs in London.
Aside from her solo projects, she's also excited fans of her band Hole by announcing a reunion with bandmates Eric Erlandson and Melissa Auf der Maur. However, she's warned that they won't be appearing at any festivals this coming summer.
"The problem is just that the Hole camp are like, 'Can you get this [solo campaign] over with?' And I'm like, 'OK, we don't have to worry about anything, festivals etc, if we do this... we have to dot the i's and cross the t's.' But Melissa'll kill me if I say too much," she laughed.
"I didn't make up my mind [to do the reunion] until it was too late for festival season. And Coachella is a tough nut to crack, because [founder] Paul Tollett doesn't wanna put on bands he, quote, 'grew up with'. But we're the last band to do this [a reunion]."
