Robert Pattinson is apparently planning to release his debut album “soon”.

The 28-year-old British star rose to fame as broody vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight film franchise.

But the actor’s purported pal Brady Corbet tells UK newspaper The Sun fans will see Robert shift direction in his career in the not too distant future.

“He’s been busy producing his first album, which will be coming soon,” Brady said.

The album wouldn’t be Rob’s first time behind the mic. He also recorded two songs for the Twilight soundtrack: Never Think and Let Me Sign.

As The Sun reports, Rob recently said until now he never took his music very seriously.

“I just played in pubs and stuff,” he once shrugged.

Rumours of an album from the actor surfaced earlier this year. A source told HollywoodLife.com some big names were working on the project.

“Rob loves acting, but his real passion is music. He’s eager to record a solo album when he finishes up his film commitments… During his free time on set, he is working on his music. It’s a bit tough because he’s so busy, but of course he takes his guitar whenever he goes,” the insider said.

“Last year, he started working with one of the top songwriters in the industry. They hope to produce and record a hit single when they are finished, along with an entire album as well.”

Rob has yet to comment on the latest claims.
