Christina Aguilera is apparently “nuts” with her pregnancy cravings.
The 33-year-old singer is expecting a baby girl with Matt Rutler.
And the 29-year-old’s wife-to-be reportedly had an unusual request for meat that tasted like charcoal during a recent meal.
“The other day, she went nuts for a plate of blackened BBQ,” a source told America’s OK! magazine.
“She laughs about it, but she was also relieved when she found out this craving isn’t all that strange.”
The outlet reports the pop star’s unusual craving isn’t actually that uncommon.
Apparently it affects over 25 per cent of pregnant women, some of whom have even resorted to "eating or smelling charcoal", according to Life & Style.
News of Christina’s pregnancy first broke in February, just weeks after she announced her engagement to Matt.
"He asked and I said……" the singer tweeted on Valentine’s Day, with a snapshot of her diamond engagement ring.
The baby girl will be the star’s first child with her fiancé. She also shares a six-year-old son, Max, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
Christina has been candid in the past about how much motherhood has changed her.
Speaking to Dateline NBC, the singer, who grew up in an abusive household, said her number one priority is protecting her child, now soon to be a big brother.
“He is my heart he is my world, he's just my baby,” she gushed.
“I am definitely accomplishing that goal thus far. No matter what, I know he is in an environment that makes him very safe.”
