Kim Kardashian and Kanye West want “downtime as newlyweds”.

The couple will tie the knot in an intimate ceremony on May 24.

Their wedding has been grabbing headlines internationally since they became engaged last October, and it is claimed the pair are eager to escape all the madness while on honeymoon.

"They're planning on taking some time off for sure," a source told People magazine.

"They're used to busy schedules but they want to have some downtime as newlyweds – and together as a family."
It is unknown exactly where the pair will travel to for vacation or how long they plan to stay away.

But Kanye performs a concert at the X Games in Austin, Texas on June 7, just two weeks after the nuptials, so it appears their jaunt will take place within that 14-day timeframe.

Kim, 33, took to her Twitter account last week to clear up some of the speculation surrounding her and Kanye’s forthcoming wedding.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star ensured their union will not be televised like her doomed 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries in 2011.

“2. We are not filming our wedding for Keeping Up With The Kardashians. You will see everything leading up til & maybe even photos,” she wrote. “As much as we would love to share these memories, privacy is our main priority.”

Kim, who shares 11-month-old daughter North with Kanye, signed off by reminding fans to ignore stories that don’t come direct from her or her family.

“That's its (sic)! Unless you hear it from us please don't believe nonsense!” she said.
