Austin Mahone admits he gets inspired to write songs in strange places.

The pop star’s new single All I Ever Need was apparently written in the bathroom, with his friend Robert.

According to Austin, creativity can strike anywhere.

“I like to write songs with my friend Robert. I was weird; we wrote it in my bathroom for some reason,” he told MTV on the iHeartRadio Awards red carpet. “I mean, it’s a pretty random place to write a song, but I know my fans are gonna love it, so check it out.”

All I Ever Need will be the singer’s second song from his upcoming album The Secret, following MMM Yeah. The EP is due to be released on May 27, and the 18-year-old is thrilled to be releasing a track that is so deeply personal and hands-on.

“I’ve never put out a song I wrote and produced myself, so it should be fun to watch,” he said. “I’ve been thinking of a treatment, I can’t really think, maybe a nice video on the beach would be cool? I live in Miami so that would be nice,” he said.

Aside from his music career, Austin admits his personal life is not perfect. The singer’s friendship with Selena Gomez is on rocky ground after she apparently unfollowed him on Instagram.

“Yes, I saw [she unfollowed Taylor Swift, Kylie and Kendall Jenner],” he told J-14.com. “I was mad! I was like, ‘I wonder if Selena’s still following me,’ so I looked and then I saw she was following zero people, so I was like, ‘Alright, I see how it is.’”
