Justin Bieber has asked Ariana Grande for a duet.

There have been rumours for some time that the 20-year-old starlet and pop's bad boy are teaming up to make sweet music together. Now Justin, also 20, has set tongues wagging yet again by officially asking Ariana to collaborate with him.

"congrats @arianagrande on your number 1 song. #arianabieberduet ?? (sic)," he wrote on Instagram.

The star attached a picture of himself in the studio with Ariana, which immediately evoked a reaction from his fans.

"yeeees please! I've been waiting for this sence she went on tour with you! ;) (sic)," one wrote, while another begged: "yes please omg yeah (sic)"

Justin was congratulating Ariana on her track Problem, which features Iggy Azalea and went to number one on the iTunes chart. It also became the fastest song to climb to the top in the chart, taking just 37 minutes.

She confirmed the duo's collaboration in her thank-you message to the singer.

"thank u justin!! secrets out now (sic)," she replied.

It's a busy time of duets for Ariana, who has also worked with Chris Brown on a track. However, the release date had to be postponed due to legal issues the 24-year-old R&B star is facing.

“I did a really cool song with Chris Brown called Don’t Be Gone Too Long, and that’s his single, so technically I’m featured on his, but it became like a duet,” she recently explained. “We both sing the whole thing together.”

It also seems Ariana is pursuing some personal ventures. The pretty brunette was spotted locking lips with ex-boyfriend Jai Brooks backstage at the iHeartRadio Awards yesterday.
