One Direction could get lookalikes to distract fans.

The British boyband embarked on world tour Where We Are last week in Colombia, sending their Latin American fans into a frenzy.

The pop group, made up of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne, were forced out of a hotel in Peru over the weekend when hoards of screaming girls blocked routes around the holiday resort. Now their team reportedly think they may have found the key to solving this continual problem.

"Having 1D lookalikes on hand would be great for distracting the fans," an insider revealed to British newspaper Daily Star.

“At the moment it seems to be the only way forward for security and safety on this tour. The band already have an unbelievable amount of bodyguards and protection around them but the risks are getting extreme."

As well as causing health and safety issues, One Direction's loyal followers have also been playing havoc with the boys' sleep patterns.

Irish charmer Niall recently pleaded with fans on Twitter to keep the noise down, complaining that the walls sounded like they were made of paper.

“The boys can’t sleep and are nervous about going out. They only feel safe in their private jet," the source added.

The band have had trouble in the past with fans overstepping the mark. Last year Liam had a pair of his boxers stolen by one overly eager admirer, who also tried to break into his hotel room.

"Strangest way I've ever been woken up, when ur in bed butt naked an sum1 is trying to force open your balcony this is gunna be a strange day.

"So happy I woke up cuz that sh*t would have been so unfair.

"Hmmm somebody stole my boxers I'm so embarrassed (sic)," he posted in a series of angry tweets.
