Nokia and La Blogothèque have announced that London based electric soul three-piece, Years & Years, will headline the second instalment of the 2014 Lumia Live Sessions (LLS).

The emerging group, fronted by former “Skins” actor, Olly Alexander, will be performing in front of an intimate crowd in the abandoned, Aldwych London Underground station on Monday 19th May.

Years and Years front man and pianist, Alexander, comes from a classicist musical upbringing, drawing upon iconic figures such as Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley, via the surrealist imagery of David Lynch and the dirty realism of Raymond Carver. It’s then down to Years & Years’ two other members, bassist Mikey Goldsworthy, and synth player/beat-maker Emre Turkmen, to truly bring the tracks to life.

Christophe Abric, founder of La Blogothèque :

“Seeing Years & Years live last year was probably the best surprise of 2013. Young Olly Alexander has the holy fire in his hands: a soulful voice with a crazy R’n’B vibe, which enables him to be simultaneously emotional and groovy. Going to a Years & Years gig is to experience a wide range of feelings, from joy and euphoria, to melancholia and tears.”
