Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will reportedly marry in a private ceremony this week.

The A-list couple got engaged on Kim’s 33rd birthday in October last year and it was thought they would tie the knot on May 24. However, TMZ now claims the pair will have a private ceremony before this.

According to the website, they requested a “confidential” marriage license so they could keep the news on the down low.

“Sources tell us... with a confidential license, [Kim and Kanye] won't have to appear publicly at a courthouse to get married... instead, an official from the court will actually go to them and perform the ceremony privately in their home,” TMZ writes.

It was thought the couple wanted to have their nuptials in Paris, but RadarOnline adds that it looks likely this week’s supposed vows will be said in Los Angeles.

A private ceremony will be a very different affair for Kim, who married Kris Humphries in a lavish do that was shown on her reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2010. The union lasted just 72 days.

Prior to that, Kim was married to Damon Thomas between 2000 and 2004.

The reality star and her rapper beau plan to have a further, more elaborate ceremony in Paris, but because of strict French laws they may also be having a civil service before they get there.

Reports have surfaced that their lawyers have advised them that this would be the best course of action, in order to avoid lengthy legal restraints.

“Typically, the US recognises citizens getting married in France, but dealing with a foreign government and paperwork could be a nightmare,” an insider explained to RadarOnline. “So just to make sure it’s legal, Kim and Kanye will first be having a civil ceremony in Southern California.”
