Katy Perry suffers from "Sunday night depression".

The 29-year-old singer has been confirmed to headline on the last night of Radio 1's Big Weekend concert in Glasgow on May 25. While she normally hates the last day of the week, the star promised to give her all for the occasion.

"I'm normally depressed on Sunday night. I have Sunday-night sad," she sighed to BBC Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw. "I will shake it off... It's like you've been partying hard over the weekend and then it's over, reality hits."

Also confirmed to perform at the event, which runs May 23-25, are UK boyband One Direction, who will join headliners Coldplay on the Saturday. When asked who she would pick out of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, Katy had an honest answer.

"I'm gonna be basic and say the same as everyone else; Harry Styles obviously," she said, before jokingly adding: "Joe Jonas is my least favourite [One Direction member]."

The answer could come as a shock to 20-year-old Niall, who's had a special bond with Katy since they met on The X Factor UK in 2010, which is where the band found their fame. He even jokingly proposed to the brunette star on Twitter, which she consequently accepted.

Katy Perry will be in good company on the Sunday, with Kings of Leon, Rita Ora and The Vamps all set to take to the stage.
