Katy Perry and DJ Diplo were reportedly “super affectionate” on a date.
The couple were first seen hanging out together at the Coachella music festival in Indio, California last week.
And now the pair have apparently had their first real date with dinner at the Marlton Hotel in New York over the weekend.
“Diplo and Katy were super affectionate. It’s a really fun relationship for them both, easy and casual,” a source told UK newspaper The Mirror.
The outlet goes on to report that Katy and Diplo went from an afterparty to a hotspot called Up & Down before leaving together at 2am.
The singer’s friends are said to be concerned with Diplo’s womanising reputation and are worried he isn’t good for her.
“Diplo always has girls throwing themselves at him, and it’s fair to say he has his fun partying with them. But he’s also got a three-year-old son with his on-off girlfriend that he doesn’t see that often as he’s on tour a lot. He also had a public fallout with his other ex, MIA, who he dated for five years, so Katy’s friends are worried she could end up getting hurt – again – by a guy who’s seen as a bit of a lothario.”
The DJ has previously made comments about not wanting to be a committed relationship. According to Diplo, he simple isn’t ready for that yet.
“I don’t want to have to be responsible for two other people. I can’t even be responsible for myself,” he said.
