Austin Mahone is mad at Selena Gomez for deleting him from her Instagram account.
The 18-year-old singer has been good friends with the Come & Get It performer but he was one of the many celebrities who were on the receiving end of Selena’s mass social media cull earlier this week. The realisation has left the 11:11 singer severely miffed.
“Yes, I saw [she unfollowed Taylor Swift, Kylie and Kendall Jenner],” he told J-14.com. “I was mad! I was like, ‘I wonder if Selena’s still following me,’ so I looked and then I saw she was following zero people, so I was like, ‘Alright, I see how it is.’”
Austin had previously described his relationship with the 21-year-old as “super close friends.” And if the pair ever crosses paths in the near future, the singer added that he will question Selena on the social media cut.
“I’m going to confront her about it next time I see her, like, ‘Yo, why’d you unfollow me?” he said.
The current situation is far removed from reports earlier this year that had the pair embarking on a romantic relationship. But at the time, Austin went on record to say their involvement with each other was purely platonic.
“Were just friends," he told People magazine at the time. "She's really cool … I mean, I think she's really pretty but every time I'm in L.A., she's like, 'Hey you're in L.A., lets hang out.’ So it's cool.”
Selena is still rumoured to be involved with on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber, who posted a throwback photograph of the two of them together earlier this week despite also being deleted off Instagram by the star.
